Can I move my broadband package to my new home?

In many cases, broadband providers will be amenable to moving your broadband supply to your new property. Indeed, this may be the fastest and most seamless way to move your broadband package to your new home. You may even see this as the perfect time to upgrade to a faster package or a service with more TV channels or call packages.
The only time when you will not be able to do this is if your current provider does not have coverage in the area where you’ll be moving to. For instance, if you currently have a Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) connection and move to an area where this is not available, you may have to choose a new provider if your current provider exclusively offers FTTP.
What to do if you’re still under contract
One of the first things you should do is check the terms of your current contract with your existing broadband supplier. If you are able to move your current plan to your new home, but don’t, you may incur early exit fees. Most providers charge a fee (usually around £10) for every month remaining on your contract. So if you still have 12 months left on your contract, that could be a very expensive move.
If you’re moving to a new property where you won’t be able to move your current plan because of the lack of cabling infrastructure (e.g. no fibre available, or no FTTP connections) your provider may waive any early exit fees.

Do they combine broadband with phone and TV deals that meet your needs?
Will the speeds that they offer suit your household’s use?
Do they have a reputation for good customer service and issue resolution?
Remember that the cheapest provider may not necessarily be the best for your needs!
